About the Artists
Mara Stoneware Mugs
| Mara is an accomplished painter, sculptor and ceramicist who has studied engraving with the famous artist, Alfredo Zalce. After studying art in London, she began working with high-temperature ceramics and created wonderfully unique glazes for her pieces. She then went on to study with the Italian ceramist, Bruno Terese, in Italy. Mara has had numerous expositions of her original stoneware pieces in Europe, the United States and Mexico. |
Padilla Stoneware Mugs |
| After mastering the technique of high-fired ceramics, Padilla's process includes firing the piece at high temperatures, letting it dry for a couple of days, removing the rough edges, and then applying a lead-free glaze creating the appearance of it dripping before firing it again for a shorter period of time. Currently Padilla divides his daily work time to several studios where he sculpts, paints and creates new ceramic designs. He is now devoting his talent to the creation of fine sculptures in mixed mediums and paintings which are not presented here. |

Product Information
Stoneware
A very durable material, stoneware will last for years while keeping its original
beauty. Each piece is fired twice at a high temperature and finished by hand.
Minor imperfections are therefore a common characteristic of hand-finished
stoneware products. Strict quality control has been established to ensure
you the highest quality possible at the best price.
Glazes
There are many factors that determine variations in colors that result from
high-fired glazed stoneware, many of which are a challenge to control.
Therefore, each piece is unique and there are often variations in color.
Only lead free glazes are used and the product is tested to ensure that there
are no traces of either lead nor cadmium.
